"I bought the FastFind Plus PLB [Personal Locator Beacon] just prior to making a trip to Bimini in the Bahamas from Miami in my 30' Center Console boat. I thought it was a good precaution for the sometimes-trecherous crossing of the Gulfstream. We had planned to do some diving with a friend. As an afterthought, i also purchsed the PLB Dive Canister so we would be able to bring the PLB with us on our dives. And a good thing we did. We surfaced after beautiful dive to find that my boat had broken loose from the mooring buoy it was anchored to. The 10-12 mph offshore wind had blown the boat one mile from the dive spot -- and was still going. With no other boats in sight, we made the hasty decision to sprint for the boat. After 30 minutes of swimming as fast as we could, the boat appeard to be even further away. As a last resort, knowing we had no chance of making it back, we deployed the PLB. IT WORKED! The FastFind Plus PLB sent our GPS coordinates to the US Coast Guard.The FastFind Plus PLB sent our GPS coordinates to the US Coast Guard and they were easily able to locate us. They made radio contact with a chartered dive boat 4 miles away that located us quickly and pulled us out of the water. That you Easy-Going from for Lauderdale!"
