Revere Sponsors Jake Korinek in 'SEA Paddle NYC' Fundraiser for Autism Awareness

Friday, August 13 2010 - They're standing up to autism, -- and so are we -- by sponsoring Jake Korinek, 24, from Long Island, New York in a breathtaking fundraiser to help battle autism and to further awareness of the condition. The event is called "SEA Paddle NYC", hosted by the Surfer's Envirnomental Alliance which ultimately benefits Stand Up to Autism, a national-level charity. This is the 4th annual event of its kind.
So what's makes SEA Paddle NYC different from so many other events? Simple. Particapants will be paddleboarding around New York City. And, for those in the know, paddlboarding is a type of surfing.
Participants of the event will take on 28 miles of Manhattan coastline in their trek -- all while standing up -- enduring the dangerous rip currents of both the East and Hudson Rivers and the infamous "Hell's Gates".
Mike Rosato, a coordinating sponsor of the Virginia Autism Project, pledged this year for Jake Korinek, a particpant who's cousin happens to be autistic. "An anticipated 200 participants for the charity paddle and 50-100 of the world’s best and biggest name paddlers starting the 6-hour, 28-mile journey from NYC at Pier 40 on the Hudson River located at Houston and West Street." Mike told Revere in a phone interview. "Participants from as far away as Germany, England, South America, Australia, Hawaii, California, North Carolina, Oregon and Florida are expected to participate in this unique 4th annual event. This year a broader international presence will be included with professional surfers mixing with music personalities, actors and environmental activists."
Mr. Rosato, in concern for Jake's safety during the fundraiser who, after numerous fruitless efforts to obtain a vest from other sponsors, contacted Revere about a ComfortMax Maunal Inflatable PFD. "Your generous contribution will be a great way to support Jake's efforts to Paddle NYC. This will also make his family and friends feel confident throughout this tiring and treacherous marathon."
